Very simple pasta and tomato sauce...

This is my favourite comfort food ever! I always depend on this recipe when I  have to make my own dinner. It is incredibly easy and healthy, great with a load of cheese on top!.... So lets go back to basics and  make pasta and tomato sauce :) This recipe makes enough for one hungry person or two  not so hungry people.

You need:
One onion
two cloves of garlic
a knob of butter
350g of chopped/tinned tomatoes
salt and pepper
Basil and any other herbs you fancy
a heaped teaspoon of pesto
Dried pasta (however much you want to eat, I always guess )

Here we gooo....

Cut up a small onion and put it into a pan with some butter. Cook it until until it softens. Then add about two cloves of garlic and cook for a little longer.

Leave the heat on and add about 350g of chopped tomatoes

Season with a little salt and pepper

Add some herbs, I used fresh basil, rosemary and lemon thyme. I also used dry thyme for a bit more thyminess.

Stir in some pesto (this is optional)

Lower the heat and pop the lid on while you cook the pasta

Measure out a good amount of pasta and add it to some boiling, salty water.

Boil the pasta for about ten minutes, then drain it in a colander.

Take the sauce off the heat and give it a good old whizz

Add the sauce to the pasta and top with black pepper, basil and grated cheddar
mmmmm............

Done

Ps.. sorry about the rubbish camera quality, think of the picture as cute and retro....
Thank you for reading this
 enjoy!!

Suburbia

I took this picture looking out of my bedroom window

Suburbia,
Our kingdom,
we're not poor,
 we're not rich,
live cosy though,
Just off London,
We're safe from that fun,
Too far from the beach,
Sunny distractions count. none .
Newly built,
Not modern though,
A housing estate.
Less dark alleys, kids getting into fights,
more neighbourhood watch and a good number of street lights,
Nearby town,
a bank, a Sainsbury's and nail salons aplenty,
and a lack of people under twenty.

I'm from,
the cushioned bubble ,
no interesting people causing trouble.
We fear the world outside,
for it is unfamiliar,
Yet we long for it too.

Love you loads , didn't mean to make that depressing.
Have a great day  loads and loads of love

Look after yourselves...

source:urbanoutfitters tumblr

We all need to nurture ourselves a little, I think it is very important. Here is a very generalised list of things you can do in order to give yourself a little TLC and to help you feel good! Enjoy...

First, find some music you REALLY love. Listen to it on car journeys , before you go to sleep whenever. Play the music you love constantly and try to discover new stuff. Music is a lot of peoples safety and can instantly change your mood

Be healthy, ok so chocolate is pretty amazing, you can eat that too but basically what I'm trying to say is think about what you put in that mouth of yours. I am really into vegan foods at the moment, and I love reading food blogs such as We need to live more  and get experimenting with good good grub. You don't need me to tell you the benefits of healthy eating but I just feel amazing when I eat well. I have recently been making my own granola, I'm thinking of making a blog post on it so yeah that's been great. Eat healthily treat your body with some respect!

Get into a good tv series or book, something that you can curl up with in bed with a candle or whatever , something you can really get involved in and escape from your own life for a little. I seriously recommend Skins it is simply the most amazing teen series ever! Or go and watch a film you just love , angus thongs and perfect snogging is one I always go back to at the moment I really feel like watching se good old Shrek.  (whatever floats yo boat)  I'm really not being very good with reading at the moment. Any book recommendations? A good book or program or series or film or whatever can really change your perspective on a lot of things, and also it's just fun.

Look after your skin, Be careful about what your putting on your it, don't just slap anything on there. Do some research as to what will be good for your skin, there is loads out there. As someone once said skincare is like a chemistry experiment on your face, it won't work for everyone.Try to find  something that's  right for you so that you can keep your face glowing

Chill a little. Find some of your own personal space that you can relax in and just chill, make a place in your room really comfy, like your little sanctuary . I like to make myself a good cup of tea and listen to music. Just remember that it's you that you need to look after and don't feel guilty for having some me time.

Ok so there is sooo much more stuff that you can do and I know I've stated the obvious in this post. But I just wanted to remind you guys to look after yourselves basically. Sorry if this was very long and rambly but I hope you liked it

Being self conscious...

Before you get worried this post aint gonna be me just telling you you're beautiful. Everyone tells you you're beautiful. It's just completely overused. Finding out you're beautiful ( which you  probably are by the way) doesn't mean anything anymore, everyone's 'beauts' or 'perf''.These words are just mindless. I think that where the problem lies is 'perf' and 'beauts' being said all the time. It's the only thing that people aspire too and despite being called beautiful, its just not enough. People need to realize that being 'beautiful'  in others eyes will never be enough. What you need  is self confidence, you will never be self confident if you are relying on others to build up your esteem. You need to get in touch with yourself  and begin to like yourself. If you like yourself, people will look up to you, people will like you and most importantly you will like you. You will never be satisfied by simply looking perfect, you need to be happy. Once you're happy you appear beautiful and to be honest you are above the people that judge you. Just remember that there are no rules you have to follow, no person you have to be and no expectations you have to live up to. Just chill dude,  teenage years are about gaining a personality, you're gonna make mistakes and you're gonna get upset but in the end things will be alright.

How to deal with...

Hello lovelies,
I want to talk about
Revision

So, I have to confess that I am a bad one for leaving revision to the very last minute or not really doing any at all !(slaps self on wrist) but when I have an important exam coming up I literally panic and STRESS OUT and then get annoyed about the hold it ha over me. Not a good place to be I end up despising teachers and school itself...
So I got to thinking and I thought that I would need to come up with ways to make revision bearable and how to balance it with my life to AVOID STRESS because stress is the worst thing for you boys and girls. Here are some handy little tips to help you get yourself together...

Plug in your headphones, it can put your mind in focus and block out distractions, it can calm you down if your stressed and generally make you feel happier. It's good to make playlists of music you love or that makes you feel relaxed. Another thing to do is listen to the radio because then you don't put your whole mind to the music you are listening too, you are just letting it play. I ALWAYS listen to music when revising.
Keep a planner that's clear colourful and tells you exactly what you need to do. It gets your head in order and gives you a simple guide to achieving what you want to achieve.

Have a nicely set out desk, helping you think clearly and somewhere where you feel comfortable and relaxed. Somewhere you're happy to be so you can make studying as pleasurable as possible.

Make yourself a cuppa tea or  a hot chocolate, it keeps your brain concentrated and keeps you comfortable, giving you something nice to cope with load of work
Dark chocolate has actually been proved to help concentration, I really find that it helps to suck on a square of dark chocolate whilst studying, it definitely makes it more bearable and helps keep my mind on the work.
Wear comfortable clothes, so you're t worrying about it. Cosy socks can really put you into a good mood and make revising a better and more comfy experience. Don't go all out though and wear pj's you want clothes that you won't fall asleep in, you need to stay awake. Just remember to keep warm and comfortable.
Lastly make sure to take regular breaks and don't turn down too many social opportunities usually when you are busy and happy you are more motivated to do work, if you leave yourself isolated you won't be in the right mindset to study. You need to remember to have a change of scenery from your desk and you will feel a lot better.

I hope this helped you, good luck with revising and your work, I'm sure you'll do well xxxxx
Loads of love

Something to watch...

MY MAD FAT DIARY

Just a quicky for you ... I love this series, it's set in the 90's. So cool 90's fashion and cool nineties music. It is based on a true story, a dairy of a sixteen year old girl and her struggles through life who gives us her funny outlook on the world. She has just come out of a mental hospital for self harming and this is her story of being let out and exposed to the real world. It's a struggle but she can get by with her group of friends in tow.Including fitty Nico Mirallegro. Really grabbing your emotions. I couldn't stop watching as it's so relatable.I was close to tears at one point. There are two complete series of it available to watch on 4od so give it a watch

Loads of love,
